To maintain an orderly and productive classroom, some type of behavior management and incentives are necessary. Student behavior will be monitored using a set of popsicle sticks for each students. The students will all begin with three sticks and will be rewarded for maintaining all sticks with lunch in the classroom or outside with the teacher each Friday. Inappropriate behavior will result in an initial verbal warning and explanation of the rule being violated, removal of a popsicle stick, and if the problem persists, a note or phone call home will be made. My classroom will be a positive environment based on rewarding positive behavior to create the ideal environment rather than focusing on punishment or undesirable behaviors. As parents, you can help with creating this environment by acknowledging and supporting the classroom rules. The following are my classroom rules:
1. Respect fellow students and teacher.
2. Keep all areas of our room clean and tidy.
3. Follow all school safety rules.
4. Raise hand to ask questions.
5. Be prepared with all assignments and materials.
